One Word: Death

Statement: In my concentration I hope to portray how close humans are to death in any situation that may present itself.

Paragraph: Through my drawings I will be attempting to show the idea that as humans we are very susceptible to many things, and that while doing anything in life people can be close to death. I am trying to illustrate this idea through mark-making and design, using a veriety of media and different forms and shapes. I will be using a skeleton as symbol of death and how close it can come to use in peoples every day lives.

NEW Concentration Idea

One Word: Death

Statement: In my portfolio I am exploring the ways in which the actions of people, and the things that people see in there daily lives can make them think about death and the inevitability of their own end.

Paragraph: In my concentration I will be showing how peoples minds can suddenly change from any thought to the inevitability of death, and how mans greatest desire is that of ever lasting life. Through my idea I will be investigating the different things that grasp peoples attention and lure them to the concept of death verses immortality. In which I will be portraying the notion that to grasp immortality is to condemn oneself for eternity.

The Boxer

This is my second concentration piece I like it alot better than my first one, but i did relize in the end that with the background the way that i made it the lighting on the skeleton would be very different. As a whole I like it and I might make a few tweeks here and there.

Prayer

This is my first concentration i was not able to get a finished product, but my idea is that i will be using a stincil and writing in the lord's prayer into the background of the drawing. I was also thinking about using a thicker lead or a darker pencil to add more definition to the picture.

AP Art Concentration

One Word: Kinesiology

Statement: In my portfolio i will be investigating how the infrastructure of the human body helps people to get through their individual activities in relationship with the sports that they are involved.  

Paragraph: In my concentration I thought to illustrate individuals participating in sports and physical activities and then sectioning off areas in which I will progressively "X-ray"more and more of the human anatomy.  Inside these areas I will be going into a deeply developed image showing how the bones and muscle tissue function underneath the skin.  In the end of my concentration the images will be in a reversed order taking an image of a complete skeleton and sectioning areas off in which to show the skin.  in the works i will be using a mixed media combined with multiple forms of layering.  While throughout every piece presenting the fact that without the body structure that people possess, we would not be able to engage in the activities that we do.
